1. Agreement to These Terms

By accessing or using Demo Disk, submitting a project, viewing project listings, or participating in any Demo Disk community pathway, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the website or submit content to Demo Disk.

2. About Demo Disk

Demo Disk is an independent game discovery platform designed to help visitors discover projects, learn about developers, and understand how games may connect with the Demo Disk Discord community.

Demo Disk may include public project listings, developer profiles, submission forms, project information, external links, community pathways, editorial features, and related content.

3. Eligibility

Demo Disk is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority in your location, you should use Demo Disk only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

By submitting a project or other content, you represent that you have the right and authority to provide that content and to agree to these Terms.

4. Project Submissions

Developers may submit projects for review through the official Demo Disk submission process. Submission does not guarantee approval, publication, promotion, Discord access, verification, featured placement, or any specific level of visibility.

Demo Disk may approve, decline, edit, format, reorganize, delay, remove, or request changes to submissions at its discretion.

Submission requirements

  • Submitted project information must be accurate, honest, and relevant.
  • Links should be official, safe, and directly related to the project or developer.
  • You should not submit confidential, private, misleading, stolen, infringing, or unsafe material.
  • You must have permission to submit any images, logos, videos, descriptions, names, trademarks, or other materials included with your project.

5. Developer Content

“Developer Content” means content submitted to Demo Disk by or on behalf of a developer, including project titles, descriptions, images, trailers, logos, links, developer names, studio names, platform details, status updates, messages, and other submitted materials.

You retain ownership of your Developer Content. By submitting Developer Content to Demo Disk, you grant Demo Disk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to use, display, reproduce, format, excerpt, resize, publish, and share that content for purposes related to operating, reviewing, displaying, promoting, moderating, or improving Demo Disk.

This permission allows Demo Disk to display approved project information on the website, reference projects in community pathways, and present submitted materials in a way that fits the site’s layout and purpose.

6. Public Listings and Visibility

Approved projects may appear publicly on Demo Disk. Public listings may include project information, developer information, images, status, genres, platforms, external links, and other details submitted for review.

Demo Disk may organize, categorize, feature, or remove listings at its discretion. Featured placement, verification, Discord roles, editorial attention, or homepage visibility are selective and are not guaranteed.

Demo Disk does not guarantee traffic, downloads, wishlists, sales, funding, followers, Discord engagement, reviews, or any commercial outcome from being listed.

7. Discord and Community Participation

Discord is the community layer of Demo Disk. It may be used for discussion, feedback, developer updates, player conversation, community roles, project visibility, and related participation.

Participation in Discord is separate from the website and may be subject to Discord’s own terms, rules, moderation tools, and privacy practices.

Demo Disk may invite, approve, deny, limit, remove, or change Discord access, roles, channels, or community participation at its discretion. A project listing does not guarantee Discord access, and Discord participation does not guarantee project approval or promotion.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Demo Disk for any purpose that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, or disruptive. Prohibited uses include:

  • Submitting false, misleading, impersonating, or deceptive project information.
  • Submitting content you do not own or have permission to use.
  • Uploading or linking to malware, phishing pages, scams, unsafe downloads, or suspicious redirects.
  • Harassing, threatening, abusing, doxxing, or targeting other users, developers, moderators, or community members.
  • Attempting to bypass security controls, access restricted admin areas, scrape private systems, or interfere with website operations.
  • Using Demo Disk to spam, mass advertise, manipulate visibility, or artificially inflate engagement.
  • Submitting content that infringes intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other legal rights.
  • Submitting adult sexual content, hateful content, extremist content, illegal content, or content that encourages harm.

9. External Links and Third-Party Services

Demo Disk may link to third-party websites, storefronts, trailers, social media profiles, developer websites, Discord, GitHub, itch.io, Steam, YouTube, and other external services.

Demo Disk does not control external websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, accuracy, policies, or practices. Visiting third-party links is at your own risk.

Developers are responsible for ensuring that submitted external links are safe, official, accurate, and appropriate.

10. Intellectual Property

Demo Disk’s own name, branding, design, layout, text, code, visual identity, and platform materials are owned by Demo Disk or its respective rights holders and may not be copied, misused, or represented as your own without permission.

Developer-submitted project names, logos, images, descriptions, trailers, and other materials remain owned by their respective developers or rights holders.

If you believe content on Demo Disk infringes your rights, please contact Demo Disk with enough information to identify the content and explain the issue.

11. Review, Moderation, and Removal

Demo Disk may review, moderate, edit, decline, hide, remove, or restrict content, submissions, listings, links, accounts, Discord access, or community participation at any time.

Reasons may include safety concerns, incomplete information, suspicious links, rights concerns, misleading information, community issues, platform fit, technical problems, or violation of these Terms.

Demo Disk is not required to publish every submission or explain every moderation decision, though reasonable efforts may be made to communicate with developers when appropriate.

12. Website Availability and Changes

Demo Disk may change, suspend, remove, redesign, limit, or discontinue any part of the website or community pathway at any time.

The website may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, hosting issues, third-party service interruptions, security incidents, updates, or technical problems.

13. Disclaimers

Demo Disk is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Demo Disk does not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Demo Disk does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, accuracy, availability, or performance of any listed project or external link.

Project listings are provided for discovery and informational purposes. A listing does not mean Demo Disk endorses, verifies, sponsors, owns, or is responsible for the project unless clearly stated otherwise.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Demo Disk and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the website, project submissions, public listings, external links, Discord participation, or inability to use the service.

Your use of Demo Disk, external links, downloads, developer pages, storefronts, and community spaces is at your own risk.

15. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the content you submit and your conduct when using Demo Disk or participating in related community spaces.

You agree to be responsible for claims, disputes, losses, or damages that arise from content you submit, rights you violate, unsafe links you provide, misuse of the website, or violation of these Terms.

16. Privacy

Demo Disk’s collection and use of information is described in the Privacy Policy. By using Demo Disk, you acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to These Terms

Demo Disk may update these Terms from time to time. When updates are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.

Continued use of Demo Disk after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
